Top 5 PPC Certification Tips:
  • Time Management
  • Note Taking
  • Practice
  • Know Your Test
  • Skip Questions Ofter

Give yourself plenty of time to study.

People often study after work or on weekends, and it's easy to put yourself in a crowd mode.
The more time you allocate studying, the more information you will absorb. The extra time
will allow you to method in some of your detail and implement the skills you are learning,
of which I will talk a bit more in point three. The amount of time you will need to assemble
depends on your current experience. If you are adequately new to the industry, give
yourself a couple of weeks to prepare.

Use the available resources and take notes.

The Google AdWords Learning Center recently eliminated practice tests once they were
offered, but there are still very good resources that can be found here. Read all the
information and pay special attention to areas where you do not have much experience.

Practice, practice, practice!

This is mentioned in point one, but working extensively on the interface before taking the test
is important enough to merit its own section. If you're like me, and most of the other PPC
consultants, most of your time is spent on Google accounts. It is also where most of your
spending spends, so that it makes sense. But, when it comes time to take the MSN exam,
make sure you have spent enough time exploring your functions. You can even set up
a fictional account just to practice. The experience will give you an advantage, since you
will have real life examples to help you retain the information. For advanced topics covered
in the analysis test, this is particularly important.

Know your time restraints well before you take the test.

Do not wait until the day of the test to read the test guidelines. Time can be more or less
a problem depending on which test you are taking. That is one question per minute. The
Analytics exam, however, currently allows you to stop the test: you can stop the test for
several days. Know the time restrictions before you start to know when to stay focused
on the questions and not on the stopwatch.

Take advantage of the skip features.

Because important topics are commonly closed in more than one question, if you do not
know the answer, skip over and see if there is a different inquiry later that will help refresh
your memory. Many of the tests will announce which questions you missed so you can
always return at the end of the test. After answering the rest of the questions, you will
also know how much time you have left to think about your answer to those few.
These approval exams are not cheap and if you do not, you will have to pay again to
take them again, so be sure you are more than prepared.
